Julie:
What did you do before you became President of the United
States?
John:
I served as Governor of the state of Virginia and Vice President
of the United States.
Julie:
What was it like being Governor of Virginia?
John:
It was uneventful.
Julie:
What was it like working with Congress?
John:
I was engaged in bitter struggles with rivals.
Julie:
How old were you when you started you're Presidency?
John:
I was 51 years old.
Julie:
Were you married?
John:
Yes, my first wife died and I remarried.
Julie:
Do you have any children?
John:
Yes, 15
Julie:
As President what were your standings on slavery?
John:
I feel that the Government should not be involved.
Julie:
In the history of the American Presidency how were you viewed?
John:
I wasn't very popular because when President Harrison died, I
elected myself and sworn myself to be President.
Julie:
What was the most important accomplishment you did as President?
John:
I was known for the annexation of Texas - meaning Texas would
become part of the United States instead of Mexico.
