As the 1872 presidential campaign approached, he stayed most popular among the Republicans.
One of the negative things that happened when Grant was in the office was, Grant had given his friends Government jobs. His friends stole federal funds, and Grant took the blame.
Once Grant had put money in the bank and once again they stole money. Grant was charged millions of dollars!
In 1885 Grant had decided to write an autobiography about himself and his life. It was a big hit and made Grant's family rich!
Four days after it was finished, Grant died of cancer at Mount Mcgreory, New York. He was buried by Riverside Drive also in New York.
