| This is my first
ride of the year to one of the counties to get the Passport Stamps.
I decided to ride to Mercur, Utah in Tooele County. When I got
to the Barrick Mercur Gold Mine Visitor Center I found out that
it does not open until Memorial Day. I spoke to Carrie Hogan
(Security) through a two-way speaker system and found out that
they didn't have a stamp yet. In the last three miles of this
ride there is a climb of about 1,000 vertical feet. This is one
third of the overall climb of the whole trip. I was disappointed
that I could not get my Passport stamped but I do this ride quite
often and will be back.it!" |
